Leah and Ezra are one of the cutest children around! We met on a beautiful Thursday morning in Shouldice Gardens in Richmond Hill for a fun time of play and family portraits. To break the ice, we began with the grandparents and then let them run around and play. Part of my personal style as a photographer is to allow the children to interact with their surroundings and thus capture them as they are. I don’t capture poses, I capture moments, moments that reveal a child’s unique personality. This, to me, is the most rewarding part of my job!

I loved Ezra’s expression as he sees a garden truck pass by…priceless!!

I love how Leah and Ezra’s grandparents are just in-love with their grandchildren!

While walking around the gardens, I found the steps below. I though it would be awesome to get Ezra and Leah there for some lovely shots. In order to persuade them (while playing “circles” around the stairs), we gave them some candy! The end result you can view for yourself! Pure delight!

Leah’s mom wanted a portrait of Leah reading, but Leah wasn’t too cooperative. So in order to get her in that moment, I put myself in front of her at a distance and began interacting with Ezra while pointing my lens at her. After a couple of shots, mission accomplished! I particularly love the one below!

Towards the end of the session, we thought it would be nice to capture them interacting with each other. Ezra and Leah looove playing together! This was self evident as they played with their Legos.

Toronto’s Fashion Week kicked off yesterday with four runway shows styled by: Gaudet, preloved, Jules Power, and Ryerson University’s School of Fashion. I particularly enjoyed Gaudet’s show because of their use of strong colors, but in the end, the Ryerson students gave the audience a terrific show with “Dinner is served’ as their theme.
The world of fashion comes together in Toronto and I’ll be in the front row to cover it all! The week kicked off last night with a runway show by IZMA designers Izzy Camilleri and Adrian Mainella. I’ll be updating every day as to the progress of the show so subscribe to my RSS feed or visit often for the latest on Toronto’s Fashion Week!

If you have been reading my blog lately, you already know this post was coming! A few weeks ago, I introduced to you Diana Velez, one of Toronto’s hottest fashion designers. Diana and I met randomly at a function and have formed a really great friendship. To those of you who know us both, this should come to no surprise as we are both very passionate about what we do and there is no better partnership than that of a photographer and a fashion designer! As Diana was getting ready to launch her new line, she commissioned me with the project of capturing her designs for her latest catalog.
Immediately, the hunt for the best models and make-up artist began. The project took three full weeks of planning leading to it’s culmination last weekend. We photographed four gorgeous models wearing incredible designs by Diana and embellished by two incredibly talented Make-up artists. Moreover, we made the event public by converting her retail space into a full-working studio and opening the doors to the public. With these gorgeous models, let’s just say we had many heads turned and a nice crowd of spectators. I hope you enjoy the images below and leave me your comments!

Before you do anything else, head over to Diana‘s Retail Store, located at Sheppard Centre. Visit her website for the address. If you are looking for something truly unique to wear, this is definitely the place to go.

Diana Velez, is an incredible designer and Toronto should feel lucky to have her here. Take a look at this exquisite hand embroidered wedding gown designed by Diana Velez. Notice how the gown shapes throughout the model’s body! It is one of the most beautiful wedding dresses I’ve seen. Now, because this dress was hand made, it is the only one in existence! If you are looking for a truly unique wedding dress, you must visit Diana’s retail store at Sheppard Centre. In the mean time, enjoy the images below!
