Toronto’s Fashion Week kicked off yesterday with four runway shows styled by: Gaudet, preloved, Jules Power, and Ryerson University’s School of Fashion. I particularly enjoyed Gaudet’s show because of their use of strong colors, but in the end, the Ryerson students gave the audience a terrific show with “Dinner is served’ as their theme.

As a photographer, I get to see and experience life through my lenses.  If you think about it, it is somewhat of a confined point of view even when the other eye is open.  But something magical or even mystical occurs when I capture moments such as the one below of my beloved God-son. The joy found in his expression as my brother-in-law pours snow over him is priceless! We often don’t appreciate these moments because they occur in the blink of an eye and when we do see them, they fall back into our memory banks sometimes to be forever stored. But in a mystical sort of way, his expression is captured forever and our minds and hearts can now be reminded that because of these moments, life is beautiful and should always be Cherished. There is nothing sweeter than the smile and the joy of a child, and as a photographer, there is no greater blessing than to capture those moments.

Today, I would like to share with you another passion of mine and tell you a little story.  For those who know me well, it doesn’t take much to know that I have a deep appreciation for food. As a matter of fact, I am an avid cook and love to try different things all the time. Some of you have had the pleasure of trying my salmon and famous Arepas! LOL!

Anyways, a few years ago, I began shooting for a really great company called Goya. I shot some of their newest products at the time and I really enjoyed it. Soon after, I found myself shooting different commercial projects for various chefs and restaurants in the Miami Area and I must say it has been very rewarding.

Now that I’m here in Canada, I am on a mission to become established and expand my business. Therefore, I would like to announce the opening of my commercial subsidiary: The Fine Tomato!

The Fine Tomato will focus on providing Toronto’s finest Chefs and Restaurant owners with amazing images and portraits of their art (food) and their locations. I invite you to go ahead and check the new website, solely dedicated to this new endevour! Click on the image below to take you there. Enjoy!
